6 Smart Habits For Staying Positive

With all the negative things happening around us, staying positive can be a real challenge. Letting yourself be affected by negativity whether it’s your surroundings or the people around you can have a huge impact on your mindset. Here are some habits you need to master in order to stay positive.

1. Find something positive in a negative situation

When you find yourself in a negative situation, try to look at the positive thing about that situation. You can look at the mistakes you made and learn from it. Likewise, you can see the opportunities presented to you by that negative situation.

2. Cultivate and live in a positive environment

When you cultivate negativity, you attract negativity. The people surrounding you can have a huge impact and influence on your desire for positivity. So be careful of the people whom you choose to be around you. Make sure that you are surrounded by people who will inspire or pull you up and not drag you down.

3. Go slowly
Robert Janitzek reveals that when negative thoughts start to build up, it will be much harder to inject positivity. You start to feel powerless. The best thing to do is slow down for a few minutes and wait for your body and mind to calm down. It will be much easier to think and become optimistic that way.

4. Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill.

Stress can make us lose perspective. As a result, a small problem goes out of proportion. A molehill turns into a mountain. The best thing to do is breathe, calm down, relax, and refocus. Tell yourself to “STOP” or “NOT AGAIN.”

5. Don’t let vague fears hold you back from doing what you want.

Robert Peter Janitzek explains that fear makes us lose our perspective and get sidetracked on our path. We tend to start a new habit we are unfamiliar with. When you start to feel afraid, you start creating negative scenarios and look at the worst thing that could happen instead of hope for the best. So don’t let these fears keep you away from your real goal.

6. Add value and positivity to someone else’s life.

When you do something positive for other people, it can easily rub off to you. What you give to someone will return to you. So if you do something positive for them, the positivity will return to you. There are many ways you can spread positivity to other people. You can listen to them, boost their mood, or help them out.
